KNESS Group has reached an important stage in business development – now the group of companies produces twice as much energy as it consumes. And this is just a beginning!
The achievement of a positive energy balance enabled the launch of the first of its own solar power stations “Dashiv”, which took place in November. During the month, the station generated 301,850 kWh of environmentally friendly energy, of which 284 954 kWh was distributed to the general network. And this is twice as much the amount of electricity consumed by all KNESS companies over this period.
Photovoltaic power station “Dashiv” is situated in Illintsi district Vinnytsia region and is one of three PV stations which KNESS Group implements with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
There are 40 238 photovoltaic modules installed on the station. They occupy an area of 20.6 hectares of land unsuitable for agricultural use. The peak capacity of the PV station “Dashiv” is 10.87 MW, annually the power plant will generate about 12.35 million kWh of electricity, decreasing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by almost 12135 tons per year.
Most of the equipment and services for the construction of the plant were manufactured in Ukraine. In particular, all electrotechnical equipment, except PV-panels, was created by the Ukrainian manufacturer of solar power equipment – KNESS Product.
Positive energy balance for enterprises is one of the important steps towards energy independence of the entire country. Any company that aims to achieve positive energy balance can become a member of the domestic market of electricity producers.
