Sergii Shakalov, CEO of KNESS and Oksana Khlyupina, Head of Corporate Finance in KNESS attended the second annual Ukrainian Energy Transition Forum held in London.
The event brought together leading industry stakeholders to identify needs and action plans for rebuilding Ukraine’s energy system with a focus on renewable energy and the use of the latest sustainable and energy-efficient technologies.
Ukrainian government officials, representatives of private and state-owned energy companies, financial institutions, green technology developers and equipment suppliers from different countries exchanged views and were working on joint solutions to restore and stabilize the power system in the current realities.
What topics were raised in the discussions?
“The expert circle of energy industry leaders and representatives of financial institutions of global importance expresses opinions that have prospects of being implemented in a well-balanced, holistic vision and a joint action plan for the development of energy in Ukraine. Our role in this as representatives of Ukrainian business is to speak honestly about the challenges we face, share our experience and offer our solutions, visions and ideas. Of course, these are solutions focused on decentralization, decarbonization and sustainability of the energy sector. In the discussions, it is clear that businesses can count on external support, both partnership and financial, if they offer bankable business models. However, it is Ukraine’s task to define a clear path for strategic development and rebuilding of the energy infrastructure,” Sergii Shakalov is convinced.
