In the course of the meeting, CEO of KNESS, Sergii Shakalov, familiarized the guests with the company’s activities, shared the experience in the renewable energy development and the implementation of innovative solutions in the field of energy storage. He presented the implemented energy storage parks with a total capacity exceeding 100 MWh, which are currently operating to support Ukraine’s power system.

That is why we implement the latest technological solutions and are often “pioneers” in launching unique projects or business models. We do not keep the experience and expertise we have accumulated over the years a secret, because we value open partnership. So we actively share our knowledge, because only together can we develop the industry”, — mentioned Sergii Shakalov.

Among other topics, the discussion addressed urgent issues such as challenges facing the energy and business sectors, investment attraction specifics, and the shortage of qualified personnel.

The delegation visited KNESS dispatch center, where guests were introduced to the main aspects of its operation and learned about KNESS’s software solutions that enable management and 24/7 monitoring of energy facilities. The team also demonstrated their own Energy Management System (EMS), designed for managing energy storages across various scenarios — including participation in the day-ahead, intraday, balancing, and ancillary services markets, as well as for energy shifting to settle imbalances within a balancing group.

KNESS has been a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine for over five years. Our experts are actively involved in addressing issues related to the operation of renewable energy producers who sell electricity under market conditions and through new mechanisms.
