The professional community has determined the composition of the leadership of the Distributed Generation Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce Ukraine (ACC). Serhii Kravchuk, Director of Electricity Trading and Supply in KNESS, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, founder of NEGEN, and Victoria Pysmenna, General Counsel at Elementum Energy, were elected co-chairs of the Chamber’s Committee. We congratulate our industry colleagues on their election and the start of joint work to enhance the predictability and investment attractiveness of the Ukrainian energy sector for national and international partners.
“The model of the energy system is gradually transforming from centralized to more distributed and decentralized. RES, energy storage systems, and modern tools for managing distributed resources are of primary importance in this process. Given the current energy challenges, the move toward decentralization is necessary to enhance the reliability and resilience of the system”— notes Serhii Kravchuk.
Within the Committee, our expert plans to focus on issues of harmonizing Ukrainian market legislation with the EU acquis, developing the institution of aggregation, the market for long-term RES and ESS generation off-take, hydrogen technologies, etc. Another important step will be further work on the legal status of energy storage systems and co-located solutions to remove regulatory barriers, double billing, and ensure the possibility of ESS participation in all market segments.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is an internationally oriented non-governmental business community that brings together leading experts from various industries from over 600 member companies. The organization is part of the US Chamber of Commerce and the global network of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce.
