Sergii Shakalov, CEO of KNESS, participated in the forum “Energy of Business” by Forbes Ukraine
The discussion keynotes:
“There is no need to wait until the war is over to start changing the energy system. We need to act now. All the disturbing issues raised at the forum arose a long time ago, and now martial law has only exacerbated them.
We need not just a vision of energy development. We need a global reconsideration of energy as a component of the country’s economy. Based on this vision, we need to jointly develop a practically implementable strategy with specific goals and criteria for its effectiveness. The key criteria should be competitive price and availability of electricity for consumers. The strategy should include specific clear steps, in particular, to address current energy market problems.
Having entered the international market, we realize how important it is to be competitive beyond the borders of one country. Ukraine needs to build its own reliable, energy-independent, and competitive energy sector. That is why we are planning to invest in wind and solar power generation and energy storage development. We see the future of Ukraine as free, decarbonized, and competitive,” stated Sergii Shakalov.
