«VINNYTSIAENERGO» LLC, which forms the part of the KNESS Group, together with Vinnytsia City Council and Vinnytsia Municipal Innovation Center have agreed to cooperate in the implementation of a project to build a new infrastructure facility for electricity supply of Vinnytsia Industrial Park enterprises.
For this purpose, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation has been signed today.
Electricity supply of industrial park enterprises is envisaged through the implementation of the first small distribution system in Ukraine (hereinafter – SDS), which will make it possible to connect consumers to electricity grids and ensure the supply and distribution of electricity on a market basis.
In order to achieve this goal, KNESS Group is planning to invest about 250 million UAH in the project.
«In the latest annual ranking of the World Bank Doing Business 2020, Ukraine ranks only 64th out of 190 countries in terms of ease of doing business. One of the weakest components of assessment for our country is the ease of connecting to the electricity supply. Here we take the 128th place. And this is exactly what the KNESS Group wants and is ready to change. Electricity should be available to everyone – this is a key indicator of investment attractiveness and reputation»- highlighted Yurii Taraniuk, Advisor to the CEO, the co-founder of the KNESS Group.
At the initiative and assistance of the KNESS Group, all participants of the industrial park will pay exclusively for the consumed electricity at market prices, without a grid connection fee. In practice, this will provide an additional powerful argument for attracting new investments in the Vinnytsia region. Also, the company will provide service operation and maintenance of the industrial park’s energy supply system.
For the KNESS Group, participation in this project is socially significant, as the company since its establishment has prioritized the development of the hometown and the country as a whole – creating production capacity and concentrating intellectual potential locally in Vinnytsia. Successful implementation of the Vinnytsia Industrial Park energy supply project will create conditions for its development and attraction of new participants.
It is worth mentioning that the experts of the KNESS Group together with the Vinnytsia City Council are working systematically with the National Commission for Regulation of Economic Competition, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to adapt the regulatory framework, including amendments to the Transmission Systems Code and other legislation to enable small distribution systems that will become a lever of influence for the development of industrial parks not only in our hometown, but throughout Ukraine.
Electricity supply of industrial parks and free connection of their participants to the grid will be the main indicator of the development of such initiatives throughout Ukraine. Which in turn will create the investment attractiveness of our country.
