ECOLIFE by KNESS

By developing renewable energy infrastructure, we are creating a green and sunny, environmentally friendly future today. Caring for the environment is encoded in the main goal and mission of KNESS. 

However, we are convinced that all our actions — not only professional activities, but also everyday activities  — have an impact on the lives of future generations. That is why we are involved in sustainable development in all its manifestations. We feel the need for even more people to get involved in achieving the sustainable development goals. Therefore, we encourage positive changes by providing our own example!

We use solar-powered solar thermal systems and fan coil units to heat water in the office. The heart of our heating and air conditioning system is geothermal heat pumps located on the ground floor, which are more than four times more economical than electric heating. The technical solution for heating and cooling each room plays an important role in the comfort of office workers, because thanks to fan coil units, the microclimate is regulated not centrally for the entire office, but individually.

Our team took part in the global campaign “1,000,000 Trees in 24 Hours”, which united thousands of Ukrainians as part of the Greening of the Planet project. On Enerhetychna Street, where our head office is located, the KNESS team, together with their children, friends, and loved ones, planted maples. Greening is an important step towards sustainability that everyone can take. That’s why we didn’t miss this opportunity and together we made dozens of steps in the “green” direction.

In addition to taking care of the natural environment around the office, we are also сaring for animals. It is thanks to the concern of our employees that the cats and dogs that settled on the territory of the company found new owners and homes. 

All our pets were vaccinated, treated and fed with funds raised from blood donations by our employees. Also, thanks to the FOUR PAWS Foundation and the Vinnytsia Municipal Shelter, we managed to sterilize and vaccinate most of the dogs living at our and neighboring enterprises, as sterilization of stray animals is the only humane method of controlling their number.

We take care of the planet’s resources. And it’s not just about fuel minerals. KNESS has implemented an electronic document management system. This gives us several advantages: reduced use of paper, which means less deforestation for paper, convenience and savings. In addition, we use office supplies made from recycled materials and prefer reusable household items to non-environmentally friendly “disposables”. 

A clean environment is our dream, and we want to see it come true as soon as possible. Our eco-friendly lifestyle encourages us to manage waste responsibly. That’s why we have a simplified sorting system in our office — for glass, plastic, paper, tetra pak cartons and batteries. 

It is our inner call to develop the habit of sorting both in the office and at home.
