The event brought together key international stakeholders in the energy sector. The current state and ways of developing renewable energy, existing regulatory mechanisms to stimulate the development of distributed generation, and the peculiarities of bankable business models for implementing renewable energy projects and energy storage facilities in Ukraine have been discussed.
“Energy storage systems are just a tool. But thanks to this solution, it is possible to create a significant number of bankable business models, including for balancing the power system. We need to understand that energy storage is a new important component of the power system. That is why we are investing in such projects in Ukraine” — mentioned Sergii Shakalov, СЕО of KNESS as part of his speech at the panel discussion “Renewable Energy as an Integral Part of Security and Economic Power of Ukraine’s Energy System”.
Rebuilding Ukraine is a shared responsibility of everyone. For our part, we are investing in industrial energy projects for balancing the power system, developing distributed generation, scaling up renewable energy projects, and creating new business models aimed at transforming Ukraine’s power system towards reliability, energy independence, energy democracy, and carbon neutrality.
