Sergii Shakalov, СЕО of KNESS Group, delivered a speech at the Second Congress of Veterans and Business Associations 2.0.
The event brought together veterans, representatives of NGOs, government, and business and was initiated by Serhii Pozniak, Association of ATO Veteran Entrepreneurs, and Andrii Dligach, Coalition of Business Communities for the Modernization of Ukraine. They outlined the challenges in the economy, energy, business and measures to overcome them, discussed the necessary priorities of veteran policies in the concept of “from plans to actions,” and further on. A clear narrative emerged from the expressed opinions — the importance of preparing for challenges in advance and joining forces to overcome them.
During his speech, the CEO of KNESS highlighted the current situation in the energy sector and the measures to be taken by every business now.
The speaker analyzed the problem in three aspects:
Technological: Every Ukrainian company should now think about how to secure electricity in winter. And implement energy-efficient projects: own generation sources, such as solar power plants and other sources of backup power, energy storage facilities, etc. The state is currently developing truly effective mechanisms that will enable businesses to obtain financial credit resources.
Organizational: efficient and effective measures for each company include conducting an internal energy audit, identifying the most “sensitive” energy installations, and implementing energy-saving measures. In the current situation, it is also important to maintain self-discipline, i.e., to adhere to restrictions and to level out the consumption schedule.
Regulatory: the state should change its approaches, but communication between business and government currently exists, and it is quite constructive.
“The current situation in the energy sector is difficult. The reason is clear to everyone: constant missile attacks on energy infrastructure. As a result, the coming winter can be very difficult. However, this scenario can change if everyone is prepared. The problem with electricity supply can be solved if everyone takes care of their businesses, their homes and the homes of their close ones.” — highlighted Sergii Shakalov.
