KNESS at Intersolar Europe 2025: an overview of solutions from our experts

Recently, KNESS representatives visited Intersolar Europe 2025, a leading international exhibition in the solar energy sector, which has been bringing together key global stakeholders in the industry for many years. The event brought together over 2,000 exhibitors and thousands of industry experts, becoming a powerful platform for sharing experiences, presenting the latest technologies, and establishing new connections.

This year’s exhibition’s focus is on solutions for flexibility and sustainability of energy systems and the development of energy storage systems (ESS). For KNESS, participation in this event has become not only an opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues, review innovations and major trends, but also a chance to meet with our partners. During the event, we visited the exhibition stand of our strategic partner Hithium, one of the world leaders in the development and manufacturing of energy storage systems. KNESS is Hithium’s official distributor in Ukraine and Europe, which is why we could not miss the presentation of a new 6.25 MWh ESS in two versions: with a cell capacity of 570 Ah and 1175 Ah. The product was created specifically for the needs of the European renewable energy market.

Here is an overview on energy storage solutions provided by our experts who attended Intersolar Europe 2025:

  • Trends in the development of the ESS market

The energy storage market is currently developing globally. In addition to the world’s leading manufacturers of energy storage systems, the exhibitors included new companies that, following market trends, presented their technological developments for domestic, commercial, and industrial use. The main market in Europe is the United Kingdom, with growing interest in ESS also observed in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

  • Need for expanded software tools for ESS management

There is currently a trend where more and more companies are developing their own software solutions for managing and optimizing the operation of energy storage systems, using artificial intelligence for these tasks. Such solutions are necessary for efficient operations and the application of energy storage systems in various segments of the energy market.

  • Emergence of new battery cell manufacturers on the market

Currently, more and more new battery cell manufacturers who are well acquainted with market trends are appearing on the market. Therefore, some ESS manufacturers give preference to them and are moving away from using the products of market leaders.

  • Tendencies and new technologies

The main tendency in recent years in LFP-based solutions has been a focus on increasing the unit capacity of ESS cells. Among the solutions presented at the exhibition, their unit capacity ranged from 350 Ah to 1175 Ah.

Special attention was also paid to alternatives to LFP technologies. These include solutions based on sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries, which, despite a lower number of charge-discharge cycles, have a number of advantages.
