KNESS at Green Energy for Business | Re-Source Poland Hub Central-Eastern Europe Conference 2024
Tetiana Petrovska, Chief Marketing Officer in KNESS, delivered a speech at a panel discussion on the potential of RES development in Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic. The discussion focused on cross-border Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs) and the post-war recovery of Ukraine, with a special emphasis on renewable energy. The event was held in Katowice as part of ‘Green Energy for Business | Re-Source Poland Hub Central-Eastern Europe Conference 2024’.
At the event, Tetiana highlighted the following points:
- Ukraine’s energy development prospects until 2030 involve decentralization and an active increase in the share of renewable energy sources, with wind, solar and hydro generation, as well as highly flexible and fast-launch facilities, bioenergy and energy storage facilities prevailing.
- The legal framework for the RES development in Ukraine is being actively developed. In particular, the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 has been approved, the National Energy and Climate Plan of Ukraine 2025-2030 has been developed, Law of Ukraine No. 3220-IX has come into force, which introduces positive changes for the RES sector, the implementation of the EU Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency Regulation (REMIT) is underway, and ways to further decentralization of electricity production are being developed, etc.
- KNESS’s initiatives and projects respond directly to the Ukraine’s increasing need for sustainable energy solutions; in particular, the company is currently engaged in the development of wind power plants and energy storage facilities based on its own technological solution for the ancillary services market of the IPS of Ukraine, etc.
“Katowice has become a vital platform for exchanging valuable experience, ideas, technologies, and strategic visions to identify opportunities in the field of renewable energy from the perspectives of both producers and consumers of clean electricity. We discussed the best practices and innovations contributing to the balanced development of the economy and preserving the environment. It was truly gratifying to be among industry experts, business representatives, energy companies and associations, investment agencies and government officials. Such meetings allow us to identify new ways for development and partnership. After all, our actions today shape our tomorrow, and it depends on each of us whether it will be successful!” Tetiana shares her impressions.
