Ivan Vekirchyk, co-founder of KNESS, took part in a series of events. In this review, we are sharing our main observations and conclusions from the key events attended.

Closed business breakfast of the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers of Poland (ZPP)

To strengthen dialogue between the business communities of Poland and Ukraine, representatives of the authorities and businesses of both countries gathered at a closed event in Kyiv. Ivan Vekirchyk was among the invited entrepreneurs from the energy sector. The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation between the countries in terms of post-war reconstruction and European integration of Ukraine, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards, as well as cooperation within the framework of the EU’s Ukraine Facility.

“KNESS has had a representative office in Poland since 2021, so it was valuable for us to participate in the event. This format allowed representatives of both countries to discuss opportunities for accessing each other’s markets and outline ways of cooperation”, — shared Ivan Vekirchyk.

Kyiv International Economic Forum

Kyiv International Economic Forum (KIEF) brought together representatives of international and Ukrainian business, government, and opinion leaders in one place. The main focus was on global trends, challenges, and areas of growth that are important for Ukraine’s integration into the global community “on equal terms.”

Key highlights from the event by Ivan Vekirchyk:

Regarding the energy sector

The industry panel discussion focused on the increased readiness of our energy system and energy professionals for the coming winter. It was valuable to hear that even in these extremely difficult conditions, we are finding opportunities to work proactively and build a new, more resilient and flexible energy system. And KNESS is actively involved in these transformations.

Regarding new horizons of business responsibility

In the current circumstances, the social role of business is crucial for maintaining the country’s stability. And this is not just about paying taxes, creating jobs, or helping the Armed Forces. Today, this is the baseline. Ukrainian business, which is demonstrating remarkable adaptability to new realities, is capable of more: participating in the systematic development of a new Ukraine. This is primarily about dialogue and partnership with the government, joint strategizing, exchanging experience, and preparing future leaders for the bright future of our country.

Regarding investments

Investor confidence in projects in Ukraine is still fragile, but security, guarantees, and predictability in the context of investment are increasing. One of the important steps discussed in this panel discussion was the introduction of individual investment accounts, which will allow Ukrainians to make low-risk investments. Income from these accounts will not be taxed if the funds are not withdrawn for five years. This will allow businesses to attract long-term money at an economically viable interest rate.

“Meeting with a mentor” for the Successful Youth Club

In his role as a mentor, Ivan Vekirchyk communicated with ambitious and active young people in Vinnytsia. He shared his experience of founding and scaling KNESS Group, cases of successful partnerships, and his own development.

“I was pleasantly surprised that the girls and boys asked so many questions. For me, this is a sign of a thirst for self-improvement and learning. Young people are looking for ways to develop, gaining knowledge and experience, taking a conscious stance, and uniting! So, in my opinion, our future is in good hands”, — mentioned Ivan Vekirchyk.
