On 1 September, Governor of Vinnytsia region met the KNESS Group management to discuss establishing the engineering and manufacturing cluster in solar energy in Vinnytsia.
“The arrangement of the engineering and manufacturing cluster to provide the complete implementation of solar energy projects in Ukraine is a goal we are embodying rather than a mere task,” said Yurii TARANIUK, First Deputy Director of KNESS Group, during the meeting with Valerii KOROVII, Head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, Andriy HIZHKO, First Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration, Volodymyr MEREZHKO, Director of the International Cooperation and Regional Development Department at the Regional State Administration, and Oleksandr PECHALIN, Chairman of the Board of STINA Business League.
The parties discussed the energy potential in Vinnytsia region as well as the possibilities for regional infrastructure development through establishing a new high-tech and environmentally friendly factory ‑ solar array production plant. Creating new production facilities in Vinnytsia means attracting sustainable private investments into formation of a municipal industrial zone, population employment, and engineering potential development. This was emphasized during the dialogue.
“New high-tech and environmentally safe production facility is a contribution into the regional infrastructure as well as into the development of the national renewable energy market. This means provision of the Ukrainian solar power industry with competitive domestic products,” said Valerii KOROVII.
Public officers and community leaders visited the member companies of KNESS Group, in particular, Podilskiy Energoconsulting, where they met with KNESS staff, KNESS RnD Center ‑ the innovative solution center in the field of energy, and PEK Energo factory, which fabricates equipment for solar power plants, including high-tech centralized inverter stations. They also had a look at the construction process of solar array plant, which is scheduled to be launched next year.
“A new industrial zone dedicated to renewable energy has been smoothly formed in Vinnytsia region,” comments Oleksandr PECHALIN. “Establishing a production cluster is the next efficient step, which means rapid development of innovations, education and staff training system, infrastructure and reputation of the region. Regional authorities have a clear understanding that it is necessary to combine the efforts of science, education and business to achieve this purpose; and they are ready to work hard in this direction.”
