Energy Storage System by KNESS – the first industrial energy storage system made in Ukraine, goes into testing and commissioning mode.
Vinnytsia City Council has issued KNESS with urban planning conditions and restrictions for the construction of an industrial energy storage system (Energy Storage System) with electrical power of 1 MW and a capacity of 1 MWh.
This is the first industrial storage unit fully developed, designed and manufactured in Ukraine by the KNESS Group.
“The Energy Storage System consists of battery clusters, developed by the KNESS RnD Center power electronics laboratory, which lasted about a year. All intelligent systems of these modules are own developments. They perform the functions of balancing the cells’ charge within the modules, monitoring and controlling all processes within the cluster,” comments Volodymyr Holodiuk, Head of Power Electronics, KNESS RnD Center.
Implementation of the energy storage system is a strategically important task for our country. This is a way to increase the flexibility of the integrated power system of Ukraine, which in the future will increase the generation of clean electricity from renewable energy sources.
