If to focus exclusively on the business sector (non-household consumers), this includes:

• enterprises that have their own generating capacity based on RES or energy storage facilities intended to offset their own electricity needs.
• enterprises that consume electricity from renewable energy sources — solar, wind power plants, etc. — belonging to third parties.

What else should be considered before starting the procedure for obtaining active consumer status?

An enterprise that owns, for example, a solar power plant, must connect it to the electrical grid, set up appropriate commercial electricity metering, and obtain a distribution point passport indicating the permitted power for supply.

How to become an active consumer? 

After completing the above steps, the enterprise must conclude a power purchase agreement under the self-production mechanism, which is an annex to the electricity supply agreement with the consumer. For more details, please refer to our expert’s review of Law No. 3220-IX.
