SPP by KNESS for a shopping center by a new business model

KNESS implements solar power plant projects for enterprises at its own expense under a new business model. Our portfolio of invested projects already includes two completed rooftop solar power plants and two more facilities at the design and construction stage. 

What is special about the project? As an investor, we have implemented a turnkey 880 kW rooftop solar power plant to supply electricity to a shopping center. The maintenance of this solar power plant is provided by our technical specialists and is also funded by KNESS. After 6 years, the solar station will be transferred to the ownership of the electricity consumer (shopping center) free of charge.

Under the concluded electricity purchase and sale agreement, the consumer purchases the entire volume of electricity generated by the SPP at a discount from the “day-ahead” market price, taking into account the electricity transmission and distribution tariffs. And upon acquiring the status of an “active consumer,” the consumer will also receive income from the sale of surplus generation to the grid. KNESS assists the enterprise in the process of obtaining the new status.

The newly constructed rooftop solar power plant will enable the company to cover about 30% of its annual electricity consumption and generate additional income from renting its roof area for the SPP installation.

We are investing in a clean energy future for enterprises operating in Ukraine. A business model based on RES is beneficial both from an economic point of view and in terms of the active development of distributed generation on the consumer side, which is important in the context of our country’s energy transition.
