Solar power plant for enterprises is an ideal solution for optimizing electricity costs

Installing a solar power plant is a favorable investment opportunity for a business. Why is it beneficial?

  • Optimizing electricity costs

Having one’s own solar power plant makes it possible to cover part of the company’s electricity needs. Under conditions of maximum generation, an enterprise can almost completely power itself from its own SPP. This is especially true given the constant trend of rising electricity prices for industrial consumers, which makes SPPs the optimal solution.

  • Solar power plant as an additional source of income

Enterprises that own a power plant and have the status of an active consumer can sell their surplus generation on the market. In addition, this category of consumers can become a member of an aggregated group and enter more marginal market segments through the Aggregator. This makes it possible to receive additional liquidity for project investments and, in general, to have extra revenue.

  • Fast payback of the project

In recent years, the payback period of a solar power plant has decreased and now averages 3 to 4 years. The payback calculation is influenced by many factors that need to be taken into account in a comprehensive manner: the facility’s capacity, the level of insolation in the region, the electricity sales model, the equipment cost, etc. The main component is the equipment itself. The development of technology and competition among manufacturers of photovoltaic modules, inverters, battery systems, etc. affect pricing and increase the affordability of such equipment for a wider range of consumers. It is also worth mentioning the temporary elimination of customs duties on imports of energy equipment. All this contributes to a shorter payback period for SPPs.

  • A step towards energy independence

Installing a solar power plant as a backup power source helps to increase the company’s reliability in the face of energy instability. And in combination with energy storage systems, it is possible to ensure autonomous operation in an “island” mode.

  • Compliance with ESG principles

Transitioning to green electricity in production is a step towards sustainable development that complies with ESG principles. This approach creates a positive image of the company, opens the door to the European market and can facilitate cooperation with foreign investors.
