KNESS has joined the Ukraine Energy Initiative, launched by the world’s largest community of responsible businesses within UN Global Compact Network Ukraine. An industry coalition will unite Ukrainian and international stakeholders to accelerate the recovery of the energy sector in Ukraine. A significant number of Ukrainian companies have already joined the initiative along with us.
Why is it so important to consolidate efforts in this matter?
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the amount of damage caused to the Ukrainian energy infrastructure by russia, reached $8.8 billion. According to preliminary estimates, with this money, Ukraine could build more than 5,000 MW of green capacities by 2030. However, now Ukraine is forced to spend this money on restoration rather than development. Nevertheless, we must work to increase the share of renewable energy generation and build a modern energy system.
We need partners and investors to restore the energy system to a better, more efficient, and more ecological one. Collaboration among responsible businesses, combination of complex expertise and experience in the energy sector are the keys to address the energy issues.
