Tetiana Petrovska, Head of the Marketing Directorate in KNESS, took part in the international investment conference Energy Week Black Sea, which is dedicated to developing renewable energy. The event brought together leading energy companies, government officials from Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Turkey, and Georgia, as well as international investors and financial institutions for a dialogue on renewable energy development in the region.
Thematic discussions focused on the solar energy state in the region, the potential of offshore wind and green hydrogen, and the search for new markets and financing for renewable energy projects.
There were also discussions about modernizing power systems to increase the renewable energy share and installing energy storage as balancing capacities. A separate panel discussion was devoted to Ukraine’s recovery in the energy transition context.
This year’s event introduced a new interactive format for active networking: thematic round-table discussions for all conference attendees with changing participants. This way, experts from different countries could share their experience, learn about the specifics of the renewable energy sector in each country, and discuss the potential for further development of the energy sector.
“The Black Sea region has great potential to become a powerful renewable energy hub! This is a unique opportunity for the growth and development of our region, which will contribute to energy independence, resilience, and the transition to a carbon-free future.
There are certain challenges specific to each market in the region, such as the need for investment, infrastructure development, and human resources training. By exploring the international experience of our neighboring countries and establishing new connections with world-class experts, we are on the same page, joining forces to achieve common goals. Together, we can do more!” — Tetiana summarized her impressions of the conference.
