From Idea to Product: implemented solutions by KNESS RnD Center

Versatile mounting structures for ground-based and rooftop power plants
More than 1 GW of solar power plants in Ukraine, Poland and Latvia have been constructed using the mounting structures designed and manufactured by KNESS.
Energy storage system
Energy Storage System (lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology) with a capacity of 1 MW has been developed, designed and manufactured.
The system is designed to meet various needs, in particular: to reduce the imbalances settlement costs of RES producers; provide ancillary frequency regulation services: primary, secondary and tertiary reserves; provide services in the balancing market; regulate voltage and reactive power levels in power grids; enhance uninterrupted power supply to industrial enterprises.
PV.SCADA
Dispatch center of KNESS Service uses PV.SCADA as the main tool to manage more than 1 GW of solar power plants located in Ukraine and Latvia. The system is being constantly upgraded to meet the latest needs.

Forecasting from 2 to 7 days ahead, using artificial intelligence (AI training for every single plant)
Power plant controlLer
PV. Protocol Convertor: getting data of all equipment (cycle from 1 to 10 seconds, depending on the available infrastructure);
PV. Plant Controller: setting the parameters for the inverter: provides active power control, regulation of reactive power and voltage at the power output point;
DataLogger: local data storage during the last 2 months (with subsequent data synchronization in case of Internet network failure at the PV plant).

Back in 2017, KNESS Group established its own innovation сenter aimed at developing and implementing modern technologies to improve the efficiency, sustainability and reliability of the renewable energy sector. The rapid technological development and the challenges our country is facing today are the main drivers in our activities. That is why our RnD team focuses on researching energy storage technologies that are now critical for the efficient use of renewable energy sources and balancing energy systems: storages, thermal energy storage systems and other innovative storage methods, etc.
A significant advantage of the KNESS RnD Center's developments is the understanding that opportunities are revealed through the combination of technologies and assets and focus-orientation. That is why each product is tested directly with end users. This means that before a product is released, it undergoes a qualitative validation in the business environment and, most importantly, has a proven performance in real business conditions and on real business sites.
